Karate Baby

I wanted to put in a quick update. The baby is starting to do some serious karate kicks these days. I’ve actually witness the bouncing of Kisha’s belly after a good whack. It is pretty darn awesome.

Week 22 Belly Update

Baby Registry

Yeah! At least for the time being I think we’ve gotten most of our baby registry stuff setup. We ended up using 3 different stores to get all the stuff we want for our little bambino(a).

  • Austin Baby Store
  • Babies”R”Us
  • BabyCenter Store

It was a pretty complex process trying to find things we like in the vast wasteland of baby paraphernalia. Our goals were to try to be organic as much as possible, especially with things touching the baby for the first few months, and also to just fit into our lifestyles. We found a pretty cool stroller and car seat setup at Babies”R”Us and lots of other good clothing and nursery items there. They have a surprising amount of organic products.

Now on to diapers. From the beginning we’ve always planned on trying to go the cloth diapering route. I was cloth daipered, Kisha was and many of our siblings were as well so it was just the logical choice for us. Of course I didn’t realize that there were literally hundreds of different ways to go about cloth diapering. From old school to fancy all-in-one diapers. After running the numbers and listening to the experets at Austin Baby Store (they are awesome) we decided on the bumGenius 3.0 all-in-one diapers.

If you are at all interested please feel free to check out the registries, there is a link to them on the left side of the page (Baby Registry Info).

I’m no engineer but…

We are planning to try co-sleeping with our future bundle of joy. In the process we’ve been looking at different products to help with this and we found a really nice co-sleeping bolster at Austin Baby store today. This got us googling for others and I came across this product.

Odd Pillow

So, I’m no engineer but I just can’t help imagine small children flying in the air if the bolster/pillow that is heavier than the baby goes falling off the edge of the bed. In the immortal words of my father-in-law…WEEEEEEE.

In all fairness the product is most likely completely safe, but it is still funny. This post was inspired by the Blender-shaped baby bath that one of Kisha’s friends posted about.

Is this how they make organic baby food?
