Good good good good Hydration

Klean Kanteen Family Pack

Water has become a very important thing to Kisha recently so she wanted a new water bottle. We really wanted to avoid plastics due to all the recent hoopla about BPAs and other chemicals that “can” leach from the plastics. Who knows if it is true but why chance it. We decided to get ourselves a family pack of Klean Kanteen products from Wheatsville to fill the need. They even have a sippy cup version that we had to have so the Little Mung Bean will have a cup just like mom and dad. BTW, I just love stainless steel cups. I’ve been drinking from the same stainless steel Starbucks coffee mug for over 7 years now and it has survived many different science experiments growing in it after having coffee sit in it for a week or two when I went out of town and forgot to clean it before leaving.

Week 29

The third trimester is really looking good on Kisha.

LOL Cats

There is a strange thing on the Internet(s) called LOL Cats. It’s basically people putting pictures of cats or other animals online and then adding some captions to them. The captions are done in something called “L33T ” or “LEET” aka elite speak, which is basically just stupid version of shorthand by people who are cool on computers but not in real life. Anyways there is a site called I Can Has Cheezburger that collects all these silly pictures and displays them. I’m now proud to say we have added Godiva to this site. Hopefully it gets put up on their main page so please go check it out and vote for it.

Animal Testing

The dogs have graciously offered to animal test all of the new baby products to make sure they are safe.

Godiva here is giving the Baby Bjorn bouncer a try.

Dexter is even getting in on some of the action in the background making sure the co-sleeping pillow really does keep you from rolling off the edge of the bed.

Size is really all about perspective

I don’t know what people are talking about Kisha really hasn’t gotten that big.

Perspective can really make a for a cool picture and thanks to digital SLRS you can get cool shots like this without having it all get washed out by the flash.

On our last day in LA we decided to be uber-tourists and visit the La Brea Tar Pits. There is something really cool about a big prehistoric tar pit just sitting smack dab in the middle of Los Angeles. We did our best to avoid the barrage of elementary school kids and we ended up having a lot of fun. We also learned that tar is pretty darn sticky stuff.

One interesting part of the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits is that there is an atrium area in the middle of the museam that is off limits to the large packs of kids on school field trips. that serves as a quiet sanctuary for adults and some really cool turtles. Kisha wanted me to try to get some close up shots of the turtles at turtle level. This shot came out pretty well.

Touch Tap

As you may already know we have the cutest and smartest baby in utero ever.  Today he/she helped prove this more.  Our baby was particularly active this morning and we decided to play a game of touch tap.  Touch tap involves tapping on the mommy’s belly and waiting a bit to see if the baby will respond by tapping back a the same spot.  Well our little one was tapping and kicking back every time.  We can already tell that this baby will be a sweet and playful little one.

Whale of a Tail

Due to the forces of nature or something like that I ended up having to work on Friday out in LA so I decided to try to bring Kisha here for the weekend so we could have our one last vacation before the baby, though the baby was definitely a part of this trip, giving Kisha nice big kicks whenever he/she found something enjoyable.

Unfortunately I completely forgot to bring my camera on our first day and Kisha already did a pretty good post about it on her blog. So I’ll skip to some of the new stuff.

Here is Kisha showing off her almost week 27 belly. It was a great picture of her on the beach at Hermosa Beach, butt there is something off about the background.

Kisha decided she wanted to see how the water felt.

It appears that the water was still a bit chilly.
We then made our way over to Martha’s 22nd Street Grill in Hermosa Beach for a little brunch. The wait was pretty long but since we had the beach next door to visit it wasn’t too bad waiting at all. We also had some really tasty Eggs Benedict.

From here we drove down the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway). We took our sweet time with really no place in mind to go to. We pulled into Point Vicente Park and we were lucky enough to have a whale sighting. It was really cool, especially since we basically just parked the car and walked over and wham-o whale. From what I could gather it wasn’t something that was happening a lot so I think our timing was perfect. Here is a quick picture of a happy Ben and then a picture of a very tiny whale blowing water (break out the magnifying glasses).

I promise there really is a whale in that picture. If you click on it to see the bigger original picture you can make out the whale blowing out some water in the very middle of the picture.

From here we kept on going south on the PCH and we decided to try to hit Laguna Beach for dinner. We pulled into a place called The Cliff and it was great. We were seated just in time for the sunset.

We also have come to the realization that if you want good food you can’t have a good view. The two are mutually exclusive. Fortunately the view here was well worth the weak food. And yes, I’m talking to you “The Oasis” in Austin.
