We finally got around to getting a stroller. This has been an agonizing shopping decision for me. I eventually want to get a Bob jogger to use around the neighborhood but they really only work for 6+ month olds and the car seat we have doesn’t work with the Bob’s so my choices were limited. I ended up getting a Quinny Zapp stroller, its pretty bling and is designed to work with our Maxi-Cosi car seat. Here is a quick picture of Lily rollin’.
When she is bigger and doesn’t need the car seat the stroller looks like this

Everyone out there seems to have their own nickname for breast feeding. Some are a bit cruder than others. We decided to use the expression “Nom Noms.” The term comes from the phenomena known as “Lolcats.” Where they use the work “nom” to describe the act of eating (see below).
Since Lily really seems to like “nomming” we’ve adapted the following song below to describe her. Just replace the word “partying” with “nomming” and enjoy.

We had a quick visit with our lactation consultant today just to check up on things. Lily has put on 8 ounces in the past 9 days! She now weighs 8lbs 3ozs!!! So things are going great, she’s getting lots of “liquid gold” aka breast milk and she is a happy little bean.

A while back my dad gave me his old Seiko Sports 5 6139-7000 watch. The watch wasn’t working very well and would only keep time for about 10 minutes and the stop watch wasn’t functioning anymore. I had the idea that I would get it fixed and use it to time Kisha’s contractions during the birth of Lily. Seiko unfortunately was not in on my plans and the 6 to 10 weeks that they said it would take to repair the watch turned into about 14 weeks. So, I finally got the watch back on Friday and I’m pretty darn happy. The watch works perfectly.
It is just a really cool feeling wearing this watch. My dad got this watch when he was traveling in Japan with his family back in 1970 before he came to the U.S. to finish he undergraduate degree and eventually get his master’s degree. He also had this watch before he met my mother and I just love seeing old pictures of my dad holding me wearing this watch. There is a great picture of him holding me on the beach in Corpus Christi, I’m barely old enough to walk. It is just so great. All these feelings are so strong right now for me since this is my first father’s day as a father. My dad is such a great man and he is constantly teaching me how to be a strong man and also how to be a good father. Even today as I am starting my journey as a new father my dad is still supporting and encouraging me and helping me find my own way of being a good father. I can only to show my gratitude toward him by being the best father I can be for Lily and husband for Kisha
